Village of Lennon Spring Clean Up 2019

Acceptable: Standard bulk items including (but not limited to): 

·         Bed Frames / Boxsprings / Mattresses

·         Bicycles

·         Cardboard must be flattened and bundled not exceeding 4 x 4 and not exceeding 50 lbs.

·         Carpet & padding is acceptable. Must be rolled & tied with tape or string into 4ft sections no heavier than 50lbs. 4 bundles equal one bulk item.

·         Furniture

·         Grills - Gas grills must have propane tank removed prior to disposal.

·         Lawn Mowers - Push Lawn mowers must be drained of oil and/or gas prior to disposal. We do not accept riding lawn mowers.

·         Paint Cans: Paint must be solidified before we can collect.  Inform resident to put kitty litter or sand inside wet paint cans to solidify. Throw lid in trash. Once paint is solid, place paint containers at the curb for collection. (No charge for these, within reason)

·         Storm doors and windows must have glass broken out of the frame and placed in a hard container or small box, taped well and marked "Broken Glass". Large amounts may require an extra fee.

·         Swing Sets - not exceeding 4ft lengths

·         Toilets

·         Vacuum cleaners

 Unacceptable:

·         Broken Glass - that is not contained

·         Cement - (even if attached to something)

·         Concrete - (even if attached to something)

·         Dirt

·         Gravel

·         Paint - if wet - (must be dry, see general bulk guidelines above)

·         Propane Tanks – regardless of size

·         Riding Lawn Mowers

·         Rock

·         Sod

·         Stones

·         Stumps

·         Vehicle parts (ATV, auto, boats, snowmobiles, trucks, trailers, etc)

·         TIRES - Whole tires are not acceptable to collect as trash in Michigan landfills effective 11-1-2004 under Michigan Public Act 34. Please advise callers to check with a local tire store or their DPW (Department of Public Works) for disposal options. If the caller inquires about cutting a tire in half, advise them that you first recommend that they call a retail establishment that sells tires because cutting a tire in half is difficult and a potentially dangerous process. If tires are cut in half, we will collect a MAXIMUM of 4 halves per week (2 tires).
